We spent 9 nights at The Holiday Inn Vanuatu and would thoroughly recommend it for families. The resort is set on beautiful grounds by the lagoon and offers something for everyone. We spent most of our time down by the main pool whilst the busy staff at the pool bar keeps us watered and fed. The kids had a great time - many thanks to Robert, Louis and Bob in the Activities Hutt for keeping our nearly 10 year old son entertained with all the different sports. Our 12 year old daughter spent a lot of time on the catamaran, kayaking, playing table tennis and beach volleyball. The resort has a kids club but is more geared towards younger children (perhaps the hotel could have a club for the older kids/teens during the school holidays?). The food was great - kids under 12 eat free - and the buffet varied each night. The entertainment was good especially the fire dancing show and the Futuna Fatuana Cultural Group. The staff are all friendly but their English is sometimes limited and hard to understand. We had two interconnecting rooms with a lagoon view (overlooking the main pool) which was clean, tidy, well equipped and set out. A couple of recommendations for the management - a small shop selling snacks, ice blocks, souvenirs etc - the area in reception is limited; a mechanism to stop the room doors slamming - very annoying at night; two chefs cooking at the omelette station at busy times; a better layout in the food area (can get very crowded at peak times especially with the table in the middle) and door stoppers between the food and seating areas. We look forward to returning!
