Having attend the FINAL SPA Contest at Fat Harolds this weekend and remembering what contest chasing was before SPA was like, makes me just a little sad. The group was formed out of a love for our fas dance, and a love for the band of gypsies that traveled the 26 beer joint circuit. Was this a smooth transition to a governing body for our dance, absolutely not!! Did it work out to be good for the dance, hell yes!! The club owners were a bunch of STRONG MINDED people that after several out and out fights literally, form a group to help the dance. It is now gone, (sad) yes? After over 30 years of service to all it was laid to rest last night. RIP SPA! NOW, show me what you got CSA, your going to have to work your asses off to live up to what SPA gave this dance called Shag! Have a great day.
