Having just got HSBC to admit they gave out wrong legal advice to their branch regarding power of attorney Im now about to start the same tussle with Nottingham Building Society. Apparently a mentally disabled person, with appointed deputy ship (me) cant open an online account. So a disabled person in Cornwall cant have an online account because they cant deal with their own affairs but a person who can deal with their own affairs can. Sounds like discrimination to me - not offering the same service. The Court has said Im a suitable and honest person and appointed me to act on their behalf. PS Sainsburys have let an online account to be opened as have Lloyds. Discrimination!!! ( ranting Liz)
