Having looked at the study by the scientists of administration I have grave concerns about the study itself. Im not at all confident that the results are the slam dunk the author wants them to be. All we know is that one group of people when told to be PC seemed to produce more ideas, we just dont know WHY. Dont get me wrong, it is an interesting question.Also I suspect a straw man, the argument is not usually that PC inhibits creativity ( I dont see any evidence of this personally, its like saying being polite makes you a worse cook) but that in conversation PC strictures inhibit expression and opinion ..and even simply being oneself. But again, I agree with the author, we already have strict social norms internalised so the problem with PC is that it has not yet been internalised.
