Having watched three episodes of the Roosevelts on PBS (local - TopicsExpress

Having watched three episodes of the Roosevelts on PBS (local affiliate WSKG) one thing has struck me. The speaches they made in towns were from the back of trains and people stood for an hour in often terrible conditions to listen to the candidates. The personalities were huge and the issues were spoken of passionately and in some cases without a lot of forethought. I would contend that in our heavily guarded, televisions oriented, sound bite era that Teddy Roosevelt, William Taft, and Woodrow Wilson would be unelectable.
