Hay everyone. Thank you for all the kind words. We are back from our trail ride today. Many of you probably thought I would ride Smokie because of the memory of the location but I had another thought. The last time Traveller was successfully ridden was nearly two years ago at this very location. I purchased him about a year ago and at that time he had hurt three people pretty bad. Traveller was no longer a rideable horse and most likely destined to be put down at the rate he was going. After a long journey Traveller returned to the place he use to ride and I must say it was the most enjoyable day. I am so proud of this beautiful boy. He did lower his head and go to buck at the start but I spun him in a circle and he was perfect for nearly a three hour ride through lots of water, over logs and in the woods. This was definitely closure and a healing experience for the both of us :) Now...youve got to look at the old photo of Smokie I posted last night and the new photo of Traveller today...isnt it kinda freaky the same pose, the same look, the same kind eye???
