He turned in the seat to face her, pulled her closer with a grab - TopicsExpress

He turned in the seat to face her, pulled her closer with a grab and kissed her. She kissed him back – romantically. After two decades, she was caught under his spell again. He tasted the smooch of her speech organs and groped her tightly. He seemed to have not changed the way he kissed. Sweet, smooth and touchy like Shakespeare’s sonnets. Kristen felt the catch come free as her tongue glided into his mouth. It felt so good to be Frenching with him again, and his hands felt so good on her bare skin. Her mind was all fuzzy with excitement. She really loved it. But when she realized what she was doing, a thrill raced up her spine. She pushed herself away from him at an instant. “This is insane.” Kristen cried, breathing heavily. “Uh, you didn’t like it?” “What’s there to like about a kiss in the changing years of life?” “We are not that old still.” “My biological clock is ticking away.” “But at least…” “Please?” She begged him to stop going on. Franco realized he made a mistake. A mistake he liked. A mistake he was longing to make. And it was not just a mistake, but more like something he wanted to do. He wanted her back; despite the long gone years. He felt like luck was going to have his back today – side with him. He felt it. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have.” He apologized. “No, don’t be. I’m to blame. I shouldn’t have let you.” There was a pause. “Do you still love me?” He asked calmly. “Oh, just what I expected.” “May you please just answer the question?” “I’m not sure of what to answer.” “A simple yes or no, really that hard?” Franco asked, slamming his palm against the steering wheel. “And if it’s a no, what would your next move be?” “I’ll know of it once I consume the answer.” She hesitated and then said, “If I love you? Hmm. I’m not sure.” “Kristen, please!” “You want me to be honest with you?” “Honesty is the best policy.” He quavered. “Uh – I don’t,” she halted. “I don’t have a place of love left inside of me. I don’t do relationships anymore; I have been hurt enough in the past and...” Franco interrupted. “But I’m a changed man now, Kristen.” “Yes, I’m aware of that. You are aging and your kids are now taking over the role. But as for me, I just can’t. I really loved you back then. You were the man of my life. But those years are now gone.” “Please, just one more chance. One last chance. Bring back the memories – the good times we shared.” Soon as she heard of memories, her mind flashed back down memory lane. She reminisced of the things Franco did to her – mostly the bad ones. She wasn’t ready for another heartache. “Good memories, huh?” she asked. “And what happens to the bad?” “It’s a new millennium. To err is human to forgive divine.” “You want forgiveness?” she glared at him. He didn’t respond. “I forgave you long back; I don’t hold grudges against anyone. But still, it doesn’t erase the cold past you made me go through. I fought myself to the top; today, look where I am. None of you were willing to help me when I fell pregnant of my first daughter. You all disowned and rejected me.” She sobbed and tears poured from both her eyes. Her voice changed colour, from white to black. The past was really hurting her. “But I was not in town, and…” “Shhh!” She fought her way through. “Being out of town is not an excuse; what are banks there for? They are not there for decoration. I called you but you kept on cancelling my calls. I texted you; you never replied any of my texts.” She paused and took a deep breath. “Look, I have a family now and problems to take care of. Okay? Please, if you want me to respect you as much as you claim to respect me, don’t do that again. Don’t’ ever kiss me again and don’t ever romance me. Love is the least and last thing I can ever think of at this moment.” She wiped off the tears and added, “And don’t think writing me letters every day of your five years prison sentence will convince me enough. No, never!” Franco bowed down his head and rested the case. He gave up the chase. He easily gave up; he didn’t like forcing issues. He felt like all the love he saved up for ten years was all a waste of time. He divorced the mother of his three boys and one girl, and had rejected a lot of women that came his way; just to stay true to Kristen – though he knew it will be hard to convince her and persuade her to lend him another chance. It took him more than five years to build a nest of courage and confidence within him to express how he still felt for her. It wasn’t really easy. But it’s never too late to move on and find love again, right? Franco? It was about time – like high time to go out there and find yourself someone else. Kristen was emotionally and heartedly occupied – her daughters’ love was all what mattered to her.
