Heads up if your looking to buy a RockShox online. From an email I just received: We’ve seen a considerable increase of RockShox suspension forks with serial numbers scratched off of the fork crown. Typically, this product has been purchased from unauthorized online retailers shipping directly from a factory. Without a legitimate serial number it’s impossible to discern genuine product from counterfeit or illegal reproductions. These suspension forks are to be considered potentially dangerous. Customers who purchase product with a serial number scratched off are not eligible for the RockShox two year warranty. Original RockShox suspension forks are laser engraved with a unique serial number on the backside of the fork crown. Each fork and serial number is catalogued within our system. Questionable product arrives with this serial number scratched off or rendered illegible. All other aspects of the suspension fork may look just like genuine product. The only way to guarantee you are purchasing genuine RockShox product is to purchase from an authorized dealer. The quality, service and performance of a RockShox fork only come with genuine RockShox product.
