Who do people say I am? Then comes the most fundamental question, And you, who do you say I am? The first question was public and they got it wrong, the second was personal and Peter got it right, you are the Christ,the Son of the living God.Our understanding of Jesus like that of the crowds could be wrong, our understanding of him like that of Peter could be incomplete, as peter remonstrated when Christ foretold he will be a suffering messiah or as the scriptures put it,the suffering Servant of Yahweh..Our understanding of Jesus even like that of the Samaritan woman and her people in Jn 4, could be gradual; from seeing him as just a Jew to a prophet, then he revealed to her he is the Messiah, then after the peoples encounter with Jesus, they believed he is the saviour of the world! Jesus might have healed you, protected or saved you, provided for you,, etc yet if your knowledge of him falls short of seeing him as a saviour, then it is tragic,and you it is to be blamed! Jesus my saviour save us and the whole world and help me to discern you in the midst of the wrong echoes of the crowds! Happy Sunday and Gods blessings
