Heartbroken is an understatement. Things I remember and will miss about Michel du Cille include his insisting that, on a long hot day out working, I share in his brown-bag lunch because you dont eat, youve got to eat something; his sharing of his wisdom on protecting sources and subjects in delicate political situations over breakfast (at an airport hotel which couldnt serve booze before 11am, where he scoffed even if he didnt feel as strongly as I); and his looking at my portfolio in the first place a few years ago and telling me I was doing some things right but had a lot to learn. I wish I could talk with him again as I think of Nikki and send all the love I have.
