Heartily Greetings from TEAM. TEAM (Tribal Empowerment and Awareness Mission), Malkangiri. Empowerment and Awareness are co related to each other like two sides of a coin. Awareness is empowerment. Both depend upon good education. A good education rest on a good health. Malkangiri is a Tribal District coming under the Tribal Sub-Plan area. There are most primitive tribes viz. Bonda , Didai , Koya, Halba, Santals, Kandha, Paraja, Durua etc. The percentage in the literacy rate among the tribe is very low. Our NGO is endeavoring for the all round development of the tribal community for the last five years in the District. Some innovative methods are introduced in this regard. Some of the activities are; 1) Free coaching classes for the slum area primary school students. 2) Distribution of free text Books and note books to the poor students. 3) TEAM has adopted two girl students since last three years and taking care of their proper education. 4) Jhulla library (Library in carry Bag ) concept is introduced. In order to encourage & facilitate the tribal\needy students for better studies, our volunteers carry the library along with them literally. They move from door to door in the slum areas, carrying the needed books with them and lend to the dropout students, house wives and laborers living in those area. 5) Have opened “Anandalaya Sishu Pathagara” (Anandalaya Children’s library) in Malyabanta Hostel Campus, Malkangiri, which meets the needs of around 1040nos of tribal and orphan students, hiling from the remotest places of Malkangiri district. 6) Conduct various competitions on Essay and letter writing, Drawing, Debate and quiz among the primary class student of different schools in the locality. 7) Inculcate the habit of writing among the little children; we arrange writing competitions on various topics. Stories and poems in the tribal dialogues too, are encouraged 8) To develop brotherly hood and harmony in the society some of the festivals viz. Rakhya Bandhan, Diwali and New Year have been celebrating every year with the active participation of weaker section people. 9) Distribute dresses, Blankets and mate to the poor students and needy people. 10) Organize different awareness programme on Health, Education and Legal Aid etc. 11) Provide support to the pregnant women for their safe delivery, medical expenditure and Blood requirement. 12) Provide financial support and facilitate the poor family in critical medical cases for higher treatment.
