Heat Illinois Highlights the Impact of Successfully Executing a Great Idea Everyone has ideas – good ones, too. So why is it that so few people manage to transform their groundbreaking concepts into success? Some people believe that it all has to do with execution. The assumption is that when concepts are planned poorly and implemented haphazardly, they cost money and create setbacks. We thrive on new and innovative ideas at Heat Illinois, so not for a second do we want to undervalue the worth of creative thinking. After all, innovation is the core of our success. It is what drives our upward trajectory. It keeps things dynamic and interesting. However, we also know that thorough research, analysis, and strategic planning are pivotal to turning an intriguing idea into an impactful reality. Therefore, we understand the ongoing debate over whether concept or execution is more important. We don’t think this should be an either/or debate, however. After all, the matters of ideas and how they are executed are not mutually exclusive. Furthermore, anyone can learn the skills required to successfully launch a new product or service, but creativity is not so methodical. It must be fueled, nourished and celebrated. New ideas must be allowed to fail – this is how we learn, after all. Getting too caught up in execution, and the use of resources, can easily distract from this process. We firmly believe that this is where the harm in the idea v. execution argument can be found. We at Heat Illinois encourage you to keep thinking and experimenting with ideas, because every one of them has potential. There will be plenty of time later to deal with execution.
