Hell Bank notes: fake money given by Harbin taxi drivers Two similar cases of passengers receiving #fake paper #money after taking taxies in Harbin, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province were reported recently. One of the victims, Zhang Bo, said he didn’t realize he had received a fake 50 yuan banknote until he got home, while another victim, Ms. Sun, reported a similar incident had given her heart trouble. Sun told a local newspaper that she had taken a taxi around midnight in early January. She gave the driver a 100 yuan banknote and the driver gave her 85 yuan change in total, including a 50 yuan bill. However after going through her notes at home, she noticed that the 50 yuan bill was oddly marked with the text “Hell Bank”. According to the police, the fake notes are a good imitation, apart from the rather frightening “#Hell #Bank” text printed along the top. Sun was reportedly so angered at the fraud that she had to be sent to hospital with high blood pressure and heart palpitations. Luckily she is in good health now.
