Hello Brave Nation, For most of our seniors, the year is over. Only graduation and fun times await with friends during the picnic, senior trip, Baccalaureate, and Awards night. We do have many seniors that are finishing up final exams and doing what is necessary to graduate. Please contact the school if you have any questions about final grades, as they will be finalized this week. Any seniors that have not shown mastery or completed the necessary work to pass a class, will be asked to continue school through next week until they have nothing more to work on. All 9th-11th graders have final exams coming up next week Tuesday-Thursday. Freshmen can exempt ONE exam, sophomores can exempt THREE exams, and juniors can exempt FOUR exams. Freshmen can get up to three additional exams exempt automatically for passing the respective EOC exams in Biology, Algebra I, and English I. Sophomores can get up to one more exam exempt automatically for passing the English II EOC, and Juniors can get up to one more exam exempt automatically for passing the US History EOC. Results are officially in today and will be shared with your students tomorrow so they know what to exempt. Exemption forms are due to Student Services by Friday at 4:00 p.m. If there is no exemption form turned in, students will take ALL exams. Any student that has been placed in ISS, or suspended from school, in the second semester...must take ALL exams. The EOC exemptions override attendance, but not discipline. I am very proud of our students and our teachers for the work they put in this year to be successful. We still have work to do, but CHS improved in all areas and scored the highest scores in all areas since the EOC began. Scores and information will be coming soon, but this is a great ending to a great year! Thank you parents for your support that you have given your children and their teachers throughout the school year. On that note, Ms. Stephanie Patterson is making enchiladas to honor the teachers for their work this year on Friday. She is asking for parents in the community that are interested in helping her in this quest with money for ingredients or supplying guacamole, rice, beans, salsa, chips, queso, desserts, plates, cups, forks, napkins...you name it. Please contact her via text at 214-422-4424 or email stephanie@banjovy if you would like to help. Have a great rest of the week!
