Hello Everyone, I always love when employers provide feedback when theyve received resumes. What NOT to do when applying for a job: - Do NOT write an email just saying I want a job with no resume/CV attached including a cover letter. Your email will be ignored. - Do NOT send attachments in format the employer or no one else for that matter can open. - Do NOT send colorful resumes/CVs until youre applying to be a graphic designer/creative director/web designer which would then display your creativity. What to DO when applying for a job: - Always include a cover letter with your resume/CV. If you are sending via email, copy and paste the cover letter in the message window and attached your resume/CV. If you are applying via the post, ensure you sign your cover letter prior to putting it in the envelope with your resume/CV. - When sending via email, always ensure the attachment is in Word compatible format. There is the option to save as word 97 -2003 document. This format enables anyone to open the document. You can also save the word document as a PDF file. Anyone is able to open a PDF file. - Always use 2 fonts for the most when typing your resume. If you do use color, use 2 colors. For example, maroon and black or blue and black. Use neutral colours. There are hundreds of examples available online of resumes/CVs and how to type resumes/CVs including cover letters. Use the internet for the wealth of information it has. You will be surprised by what you discover that you can learn easily online. Please use the tips shared to get employed. The feedback is from local employers on why theyre not hiring persons or answering their emails. If you want to get employed, you have to be prepared professionally for success. Have a great day!
