Hello Everyone! This is a membership update post: 1. There are many people with expired ANZA cycling memberships still riding with the ANZA groups. Please be aware that you are not covered by insurance if something should happen to you out on the road - I encourage you to log on and pay your ANZA cycling membership as soon as you can. For those members with expiry dates pre June 2014 I have marked you as DNR (did not renew) on the database. If you wish to renew please email me to let me know you have paid so I can reinstate you on the database. 2. August 2014 members - please check your cards for the expiry. If you have expired or are about to expire please log on and pay your ANZA cycling membership. I will send out one email reminder notifying members of their impending expiry and a link to the ANZA weskit in order to renew their memberships. AND FINALLY………a note on the information required for membership cards: 3. ANZA cycling membership cards contain very important information that may be necessary to use if you (heaven forbid), have an accident out on the road. This information is used to contact next of kin, in addition to providing healthcare workers important medical information in the event that you require urgent medical care (allergies and blood group). IT IS UP TO YOU to provide this information when you sign up to ANZA cycling or renew your cycling membership - it is not my responsibility to email members asking for this information. If you do not provide this information and something happens to you out on the road, the emergency services personnel will not be able to contact a next of kin and instead may call ANZA or the embassy from the issuing country on your passport. If you do not provide Nationality or Passport/FIN number, then they will contact ANZA directly and it is not the responsibility of ANZA to inform your family that you have been injured. So…..PLEASE ensure that you provide all relevant information at time of signing up or renewing a cycling membership. If you find it difficult to remember to take your membership card with you when you ride then I encourage you to get yourself a RoadID…..this is a bracelet that can be worn when riding and contains the same information as on your membership card. They are a great idea and inexpensive. Thanks everyone. Safe riding. Neridah
