Hello FaceBook Friends: First, allow me to apologize to those of you who had to read the recent review posted by one of our former clients. As we all know it is our American right to express our opinion and everyone else is entitled to agree or disagree. Social Media has provided a venue for individuals to cast judgment that is instantly spread to the masses. I do not begrudge anyone their opinion and we must take the good with the bad. It is out of character for me to post online. However, I am being drug into the war being waged against businesses operating for profit and have been provoked to make my first public stand. Recently Pet Care Center was accused, because we required payment for our services, of being “shameless,” “greedy,” and “heartless.” As an employer: we owe a responsibility to our employees to ensure that they are paid for the job they perform. As a veterinary hospital: we owe a responsibility to our patients to provide the highest quality care and practice the best medicine. This all comes at a cost. I have personally witnessed our doctors and staff crying with clients over the loss of their baby; doctors taking phone calls at home from worried parents; and relishing together with our extended families over the joy of their new additions. At Pet Care Center we strive to eliminate any chance for error; although we are not infallible. It is hard to see our staff and professionals put upon by such crass and thoughtless criticism when I witness on a daily basis the heart and soul that motivates them. I will always be proud to stand by what we do and the people who do it! As for Ms. Duarte’s comment my answer is this: We require boarders to be current on vaccines to protect the health of all of the animals that frequent our facilities. I would think as a client of ours that you would appreciate the protection of your pets. Even in the minimal time that your rescue spent here, each day, that baby was fed, walked 6-8 times, had a technician put eyes on him each day to be sure he was bright, alert, and responsive, and had a doctor available to him 24 hours a day in case of medical need. I am sorry that you feel we should have paid for your good Samaritan act, but I have to pay those that have dedicated their careers to the animals we love. Thank you Brittany Sylvia
