Hello , I was looking for members of my family from Italy and Sicily. My name is James Cammilleri and my Father Leo, was the son of Antonina Cammilleri who was Antonina Culmone. Both of the families, to the best of my knowledge, were from Caltinesetta, Sicily. They immigrated to America around 1900. My grandmother spoke often and fondly of her city and her husband Giacamo Cammilleri worked as a foremen in one of the mines in the area. My grandmother had four sisters (Culmone) Anna, Josephine, Assunda (Sue), and another that of whom I think her first name was Concetta, and I think she married a Tisa and they settled in Providence, RI. She also Had 3 brothers that I know of Jack, Angelo and Charles Culmone. All of my uncles and Aunts lived in Rochester, N.Y Our family settled in Rochester, NY. I am planning a trip to Italy, 23 Sept 2014 to 12 Oct, 2014. and I wanted to try and visit my Mothers side (Buca Fratta Family) in Venere or Ville Valle Longa, Abruzzo, Italia and my Dads side in Caltinesetta, Sicily. We will be in Sicily for 7 days and wanted to visit Caltinesetta. We are staying in Taormina. Im also trying to do a Family tree so any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. I speak very little Italian or Sicilian for that matter (To my Shame). I am now 72 years of age so thought I would like to leave my children some of their heritage history. We are looking forward to this trip with 5 of our children and two daughters-in-law and my wife of 50 years, which is the reason we are celebrating. Any help anyone would be able to give would be appreciated.
