Hello, I would like to send out an invite to my Facebook group offering information about our planned community called The Amazon Sustainability and Awareness Project(A.S.A.P.) This jungle community will be based in Southern Peru outside of the city of Puerto Maldonado, and will offer an exciting break from daily routine of the typical 40 hour materialism based grind, and will eventually lead to true positive change. Now to explain what A.S.A.P. will eventually become: The vast majority of people will agree that we have major issues throughout the world. Imagine a scale, with the left side representing technology(physical), and the right side representing nature(spiritual). It’s obvious that as technology advances, the natural world; which is critically important to the survival of the human race, declines rapidly. Right now the scale is tipping to the left and our beautiful Earth is suffering because of it. The purpose of A.S.A.P.is to create an experimental paradigm representing a model for our future Earth that will put both technology and nature back into balance. The plan is to create a model that can be mimicked and can be used worldwide to create a more balanced and prosperous Earth. We will be developing the land using permaculture principles for long term sustainability. PERMACULTURE : an agricultural system or method that seeks to integrate human activity with natural surroundings so as to create highly efficient self-sustaining ecosystems The idea is to have a model community with complete self-sustainability. There will be not be a need for trucking food in, as it’s all grown organically on site. Water catchment and reforestation of the surrounding lands will be of critical importance and will eventually help counter drought. Our medicine will be in the form of whole herbs wildcrafted in the nearby forest. Animals will be treated humanely, and with great respect. The school discussed below will assist in educating those interested in improving our world, by providing real world skills, with an emphasis on achieving balance of technology and nature. Now imagine this model times thousands, spread throughout the world. Permaculture will be the way of the future, and has the potential to make our world a much better place. In the center of the project will be our housing and eventual school, research center, and hidden in the old growth jungle will be our Maloca for our Ayahuasca ceremonies. Ayahuasca, various plant medicines, and the principals of Shamanism will be very important to our continued growth, You will learn more about the various aspects of the project by joining the group and reading the individual threads. I will be funding the early stages of A.S.A.P out of pocket. We also have a fairly new herbal product business that will eventually fund this expansive project. We also have plans for a Kickstarter campaign mid-summer 2015 Please keep in mind this project will take years to establish and even then will continue to evolve over time.
