Hello Im new to the group, so I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jared, and I live in Owensboro. Ive been interested in falconry for about 20 years, and have been out hawking, and trapping with a licensed falconer many times. I am hoping to get everything set up and ready on time for next season, and I have a couple of questions for you guys if you dont mind. First off, can I take the test in Kentucky before I locate a sponsor? I would like to have as much done as possible before I start making calls, and writing emails. And lastly for now, does anybody know if a covered dog kennel in a fenced yard would meet the state requirement for a weathering? I would also be using a spare bedroom for when Im not home, but I rent so major modifications, or a more traditional mews that would kill the grass is a no go. I have talked this over with my land lord and have been given the OK on keeping a red tail on the property, so long as I take him out hunting at least once. Thanks in advance for any help. I really appreciate it, and am glad groups like this exist. It is so much less awkward than calling people out of the blue from a list of falconers DNR in Colorado provided in the late 90s.
