Hello Peaceclubbers & promoters of peace, Today, at the First Annual Fall Mixer, I launched a campaign in support of free press & the protection of journalists rights. Shockingly, only 14% of the worlds citizens live in countries that have the right to free press. Additionally, throughout the world, journalists are wrongfully spied on, imprisoned, & executed by their governments. The surveillance, imprisonment, or execution of even ONE journalist is exceptionally dangerous because it encourages silence amongst others. Journalists are the worlds principle sources of truth and enlightenment. They are undeniably valuable not only in our country, but ESPECIALLY in countries where press freedom is little to nonexistent/recently gaining ground. Join me in my campaign to support the right of reporters TO REPORT! More information will be given at Peace Clubs next meeting on 11/6. All are welcome.
