Hello Striders! MVS thought it would be nice to spread some holiday cheer! We wanted to select a local organization that could use some help this time of year. Therefore we are having a toy drive for St. Ann’s Home in Methuen at the December 3rd MVS General Meeting. St. Anns Home & School specializes in providing residential, outpatient, and private day school options for children with a wide range of learning disabilities and/or behavioral and emotional disorders. All of the programs are designed to provide a continuum of special needs services to assist children and adolescents who need intensive and comprehensive help for themselves and their families. There are about 125 children and adolescents, both boys and girls, living at St. Ann’s presently. Most are in the 7 to 19 year old age range and about 65% of them are between 9 and 15. St. Ann’s Home has provided a list of suggested gifts, but anything that a typical child or adolescent would like will also be a great gift for the kids at St. Ann’s. The gifts do not need to be wrapped. Here are some of the items on the children’s Christmas wish lists this year: Legos and Lego sets Pokémon cards arts and crafts hats (e.g., Red Sox, Yankees, Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, etc.) CDs (e.g., One Direction, Selena Gomez, etc.) DVDs (e.g., Disney movies, Lego movies, Tuck Everlasting, Frozen, etc.) dolls, doll clothes and accessories Alex and Ani bracelets nail polish sets basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, baseball gloves gift cards (e.g., iTunes, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Target, Old Navy, to movie theatres, etc.) Wii games portable DVD players iPod shuffles We look forward to seeing you at the last meeting of the year – December 3rd!!
