Hello Theatre people! We have chosen the spring production and have the dates for rehearsal and show and wanted to share all that information with you. The play is called The Last Day at W.O.R.K. and, as promised, is a much easier play to produce and learn (Yay!) It has a rather large cast, so we need to recruit some other interested actors. We will have parts for three men and eleven women. Some of the parts could work for either gender. All except for two (the male and female owners of the radio station) are small parts and most, even the two main characters, will be easily able to use written cues and/or scripts. The set is also easy and is only one stage throughout the play with a minimum of furniture and props, as it is the inside of a radio station. Of course, we will need crew for lights, sound, stage and house, as well. The synopsis of the play is as follows: A radio station in a small southern town, W.O.R.K., is signing off the air after 50 years. The station owners, a couple in their 70s, have invited back their old favorite acts for one last nostalgic show. Premiered at a Senior Theatre to rave reviews! This should be a fun comedy to work on and present. We will have a dinner theatre on Saturday night, matinee on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning for our Sethra folks and the nursing homes/assisted living residents. That weekend will be May 17-19. Tryouts will be at 1 p.m. on March 24 at the Senior Center and rehearsals will be on Mondays and Thursdays from 1 until 3 beginning that same week. Since the parts are small, not every actor will have to be at all the rehearsals, except for the two main male and female. Please pass this information along to anyone you think might be interested, and be sure to let them know we are a fun group to work with! Let us know if you have any questions! Jeanne and Grady
