Hello everybody. I know most here are crafters or ebook/course sellers, but Id like to enquire about website advertising - has anybody contacted HMRC about it? Im sure there are a lot of bloggers affected? I know that selling advertising is classed as an e-service, but Im completely certain that my process includes enough human intervention to ensure I do not qualify for VATMOSS. The paid advertising on my site is very casual. I have two companies that sometimes pay to advertise on my site, it can vary. I email the company and ask if theyd like to advertise, or they contact me. We negotiate rates and discuss other promotion I can include (for example, tweets or Facebook messages). They send through the banners, I do not use any systems to automatically upload these, its all manual. The banners may change two or three times in the time period agreed. I manually code in the HTML into my sidebar widget. I invoice for the period agreed and then leave it to run. Then the process starts again. What do you think? Im going to contact HMRC anyway, but just wondered if others had asked similar questions or had thoughts about this before I do so. Cheers.
