Hello everybody, Well last time we updated I think we were in uzbekistan getting the car fixed. After that we headed to smarkland via some exciting night driving to get Rob in time for his flight and to pick up Gary returning from his injury. The next day we had a quick look at some of the sights before heading to the border with tajikistan...which turns out to be shut to tourists. This meant we had to drive north to Tashkent where it was apparent that duchess needed a new air filter and as 1/4 of our roof rack vanished on the drive we had a new one built as well. Repairs complete we drove for the border again only to be fooled once more by Google maps drive times so we stopped short near the border in a town called qoqon which seems to have only recently discovered fast food as thats all the 8 restaurants we could find sold. Crossing into krgyztan the next day was properly the easiest border weve had. once we waited for several departments of the Uzbekistan customs to have their lunch anyway. On the krgy side we were ushered to the head of the queue and asked if we liked fish and chips! Once through we headed to the city of osh for food and much needed sleep before we headed to the mountains...
