Hello everyone! It has been a few months since I have updated, I apologize for that. The last couple of months have been difficult. One of Lillys grandmas, my mother, passed away three short weeks after being diagnosed with a very rare cancer. I will not go into detail, this page is for Lilly, but if you are curios and would like to know details just message me. Anyways.. In the past few months, since I last updated, Lilly has grown quite a bit. She has learned many new words, learned to crawl, as well as learned to walk. I have many photos to post of her in the last few months, I apologize in advance if your news feed blows up with photos of Lilly bug soon..at least she is cute right? Haha, ok so.. We went back to Colorado for checkups in November, this time Lilly was sedated and a full, more extensive, MRI was done. While still under sedation, Dr. Wilkinson informed us that they messed up when they put her shunt tubing in. It was a mistake, and one that he had never before encountered. The tubing to the shunt had snuck its way under a rib on the way down and was under some ribs. This caused the tubing to come apart and fluid to build up around her lungs. Luckily, they caught it before it started causing major problems and performed surgery to fix it. We stayed overnight at Childrens that night and returned home on Thanksgiving. The following Monday I received a call from her cardiologist about the results regarding her heart. The narrowing in her heart is not causing problems at the moment and isnt preventing good blood flow to her organs. Her right arm blood pressure was high and her left leg was low, this is a concern. Her cardiologist informed me that she was going to consult with the cardiology surgeons, Dr. Wilkinson, and Dr. Kumpe about what to do and when. She called me back a few days later and informed me that they would more than likely do surgery(rather than a stint) by the spring. We will be returning to Childrens either this month or next for more checkups. I will update you all when we go. Thank you all for your continued support and prayers!!!
