Hello everyone! Meteorologist Eric Sorensen here. Theres nothing on the radar as of now, but I wouldnt be in the Weather Center on a Sunday if that was going to remain the case! The strong southwesterly wind, gusting near 40 is bringing in ample moisture this afternoon. The mixed sunshine is also warming temperatures...increasing the instability needed to eventually create thunderstorms. I uploaded the latest RPM model which shows developing thunderstorms between the Mississippi River and I-39 in the next hour. They will quickly move northeast and exit our coverage area completely by 7pm. With an already strong wind, these storms could produce additional 20-25mph gusts, which would be over severe criteria. Thats the main threat...but again, theres a narrow window of opportunity: 4-7pm. Ill be here for ya! -Eric
