Hello fellow friends, for the next few weeks Ill be in the studio - TopicsExpress

Hello fellow friends, for the next few weeks Ill be in the studio working on the ultimate instalment of my iPad-based live performance to be able to deliver what I hope will be my best live show since I first walked on a stage a few years back. D-Day is September 19th, when Ill share the scene of Saint Johns Church in Hackney, London with one of my all-time most revered producer, no less than A Guy Called Gerald. A beautiful church thats usually open to the public, a Funktion One system set up by skilled acousticians, a true legend hailing from Detroit in full-analog live mode... This is no ordinary club night but a truly special occasion Im very lucky to be part of. Its also a perfect occasion to show fellow Londoners and others keen minds the unusual setup Ive been working on and toured with for the past year is not a gimmicky PR stunt with more style than substance. I truly believe these affordable touchscreen devices that entered our lives a mere four years ago have the potential to turn music-making upside down and inside out, just as music made a giant leap when the world was presented with the first piano. So far weve done little more than scratch the surface of what can be done with this new tech. Ill try to dig a little deeper and will also make sure the older classic analog devices Ill bring along can benefit from the new possibilities these newcomers bring to the table in terms of control. And above all, Ill make sure the audience feels involved in the performance and gets a proper feel for how its made as the music unrolls. Im aware the lack of transparency is one of the main thing people dont like with computer-based music nowadays, and I can only agree -is the guy behind the laptop genuine or is he faking it unashamedly? Time to put risk, innovation and forward-thinking approaches back into electronic music. Essential values that shouldnt have faded away in the first place. Im looking forward to this day, its gonna be glorious in the old church. I hope Ill see as many of you as possible there and then. Wish me luck, or say merde to me, i think Ill need it! Godspeed, Danton.
