Hello group and thank you for accepting me. Last years Regatta left a horrible mess along our river shore. After the Clean up I was at Lazy Harrys area by the rails on Sunday, where I take my grand daughter swimming. There was broken glass, bottles, cans, and garbage everywhere. My son in law and I took the proactive stance, and began finishing the job the volunteers and staff had done to do the job. We filled 6, 50 gallon barrels with garbage. The broken glass weighed over 40 lbs. After seeing the posts regarding the trash early this morning, I grabbed my camera and went from Davis camp to Rotary park and photographed the cleanup effort. and interviewed the people along the shores to comment. Here are my results. I want to give credit where credit is due. They did a phenomenal effort cleaning up the river and beaches. The beaches were cleaner then before the event. I would like to hear from our down river friends and see the impact of floating debris and how it effected their shores and what efforts were done by Bullhead City to cleanup the down river flows of garbage. I also will do research regarding the beach soils embedded garbage, water samples of bacteria, and other environmental impacts of the river regatta. Lets make whats bad and ugly something good. We who live here have a vested interest!
