Hello my friends! Ok, my daughter outed me on FB, and yall are starting to ask for more updates ... so heres the detail on my new hip! First, thank you all so much for your concern and prayers and healing thoughts and wishes. So very much appreciated. Im told that the surgery went very well and that, despite the fact it was a mangled mess in there, the doctor was extremely pleased with his handiwork ... which means at some point, I will be extremely pleased also (but to begin with Id like to punch him in the face!) As for MY experience ... I guess my oxygen saturation dropped way too low (50% ) from something I was given during surgery which made additional pain meds a non-option when I first woke up (and which were titrated EXTREMELY slowly after they were finally allowed). So the first several hours post-surgery were pretty brutal. (I guess not breathing at all would have been a little worse ... But not by much -- Hahaha!) But once we got the pain to an acceptable level (14 hours later) its been pretty good! Recovery is also going well. Im making progress every day. Of course its not as easy or as quick as I wanted/expected it to be ... but if you know me, that probably comes as no surprise! Hahaha! Relax, Im using a walker and doing the exercises like a good girl, and resting and not pushing too hard. :) I expect to be dancing everywhere I go by Spring!
