Hello to the Avon UMC Family, There is a lot of coverage in the news today about highly contagious diseases in the world such as Ebola and the childrens virus known as ED-D68. The spread of these outbreaks is causing fear and panic among many people who are concerned that they also one day may be infected, and their lives may change dramatically. But, do we realize that as Christians we also can be contagious when it comes to our faith in Christ and the attitude of gratitude that we can pass on to others? This Sunday and Monday, I will be sharing with you a message entitled, Are You Contagious? and I will be asking each of us how we are impacting the lives around us. Tickets will be available for sale between services on Sunday. *The Sprouts are collecting candy to be passed out during the Avon Heritage Festival Parade. *Confirmation classes for our Jr. High students have been set for January 18th through March 8th. *There will be a Hymn Sing and special music on Sunday evening, September 28th at 7:00 pm. *Remember, if you miss a Sunday, set your offering aside, and bring it with you the following week.
