Help me, Calgarian friends. As Ive mentioned earlier, the Calgary Public Library chose Walls : Travels Along the Barricades as their 2014 One Book One Calgary selection. For the programs final event, we are assembling a panel of Calgarians who hail from the places I write about in the book to speak about their experience living in the shadow of their particular walls. To that end, we are trying to find folks who have lived in Belfast, Cyprus, Ceuta, Melilla or the Western Sahara. We are also looking for people with personal experience along the borders between the US and Mexico, or India and Bangladesh. Anyone out there in Facebook-land know a Calgarian with a good wall-story to tell? If so, message me. And feel free to share this post.
