Here are highlights from the September 8, 2014 meeting of Prince George City Council: • Council endorsed the Northern BC Helicopter Emergency Rescue Operations Society’s (H.E.R.O.S) proposal to launch a dedicated air ambulance service in North Central BC in 2015, expressed its enthusiasm and thanks to the organizers of the International Student Welcome Event at City Hall on September 19, and endorsed the resolution “Support for Proactive Action to Protect Workers” brought before Council by representatives of the United Steel Workers. • Council unanimously approved the Snow and Ice Control Operations and Fleet Services Implementation Plan, which includes recommended improvements for snow and ice operations and fleet services for the City. • Council directed Administration to return an amendment bylaw to exclude video game disks and cartridges from the definition of “second-hand property” and treat them in the same manner as books, vinyl records or cassette tapes. The next meeting of Council is on September 29, 2014.
