Here are two more questions I presented to the Mayor for clarification from the dissolution committee. IS THE COMMITTEE AWARE THAT THE HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENTS HIRE THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES SO THE CURRENT EMPLOYEES POSITIONS ARE NOT AN AUTOMATIC TRANSFER UNDER CIVIL SERVICE RULES? IS THE CURRENT CONTRACT THAT EXSITS BETWEEN THE VILLAGE AND THE NIAGARA COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY TRANSFERABLE TO THE LDC? IF SO IS THIS IN WRITING? If the contract the village has with the Niagara County Water Authority is not transferable our water rates may be raised. This will more than likely negate any savings we would see if the village did dissolve. When I have an answer from the water authority I will post it here.
