Here is Connie Schultzs latest column and the next story to hear and listen to about a fatal police shooting. This time it was in Cleveland and the victim was 12 years old and his name was Tamir Rice. There are several aspects to the story with more details coming out all the time. There is a difference between what the dispatcher said (it is probably a toy gun) and what the officers involved in the shooting said (the suspect is about 20 years old). There is a video of the shooting that does not match the officers testimony. NEOMG (which is the online partner of the Plain Dealer) posted information about the criminal records of the parents while the Plain Dealer editor refused to print the information. There has been information posted out of a the personnel file of the previous police department that the officer who shot the boy worked in. This information would lead you to believe the officer should never have been employed by CPD in the first place.
