Here is Leo and Maria again demonstrating how a dog should walk on the lead. As you can see the lead is loose, and the dog is attentive. He sits automatically when Maria stops. A loose lead ensures a relaxed attitude, preventing reactivity in the future. Tension on the lead lends itself to tension in the mind making reactivity more likely. All dogs should walk on lead like this, and if I come across a dog in the street that is pulling at me like a freight train I avoid it as it lets me know the owner has no control. The behaviour Leo is displaying in this video is achievable for every dog. Even in the presence of other dogs and lots of people.
