Here is a case of another city, another county and the federal government claiming racist reasons for not zoning an un-needed bus stop. The Citizens of Greene County are a diverse group led by an equally diverse city council have indicated a desire not to have to pay (or zone) for a bus stop that has no use for those in our community as we are already served by another transit system (Greene CATS). Race has nothing to do with our choices but the decision of home rule has been unconstitutionally usurped by a non-diverse organization teamed up with a transit system that wants to siphon off the dollars and economic success for that which we have worked for. We would NEVER aspire to force our wishes on other cities or communities. Whose civil rights are being violated?
