Now I am no expert on supplies needed by a school district, but I do want everyone to take the time to look at those numbers. Custodial Supplies is the highest amount of $126,381.27. For that amount of money I would expect to be able to see my reflection in the gleam off the floors. Unfortunately, I have had the luxury of sitting on the floors of one school or another while participating in a school event or waiting for an activity to wrap up after hours. I can guarantee you there was no gleam, in fact, I was left with a film of dust and dirt on my clothes. Now I’m not saying I was disgusted or that it wasn’t “clean enough” for the floor of a school, but for $126,381.27 gleam or no gleam, the children over at Pine Acres school definitely shouldn’t have run out of soap to wash their hands at the end of the school year last year. Something doesn’t add up.
