Here is a pie chart I made showing how much each group of people is paying for the renovation. i1067.photobucket/albums/u434/ryanlammi/IconShare_zps92e4ee0a.png Heres the math. The sales tax will account for 81% of the total project cost. Gifts will account for 15%. The City of Cincinnati is directly paying 4%. According to the Enquirer, about 50% of the sales tax generated in Hamilton County comes from those living in Hamilton County. The remaining 50% will come from those in the region and those who are visiting (Butler County, Clermont County, Warren County, Northern Kentucky, tourists from Chicago, etc). Cincinnati makes up about 300,000 of the 800,000 people in Hamilton County. This is 37.5%. The remaining communities (Cleves, Norwood, Anderson Township, Blue Ash, etc) make up the rest, or 62.5%. 37.5% (Cincinnati/Hamilton County) of 50% (Hamilton County/Total Sales Tax) of 81% (Sales Tax / Total Cost) is 15.19%. Add the 4% Cincinnati is already contributing directly, and Cincinnati is paying 19.19% of the total cost. 62.5% (Remaining Residents/Hamilton County) of 50% of 81% is 25.31% of the total cost. 50% of 81% is 40.5% of the total cost which comes from those outside of Hamilton County. Gifts have been declared as the remaining 15%. This is really who is paying for the repairs under the current plan. Feel free to spread this info if you desire.
