Here is a story recently sent into the ministry by a friend . . . . A couple of weeks ago I was out witnessing on a sidewalk near the local college campus and ran into a Chinese researcher walking by on his way to the lab. I had given him One Heartbeat Away last year because he wasnt sure if there was a God. While I was following up with him, I kept noticing out of the corner of my eye that my friend, who usually witnesses on the OTHER side of the street, was standing next to me with a couple and looking quite eager! I finished up my conversation with the Chinese man, and saw that my friend was just beaming! She said, You have to meet my new friends “L” and “A” . . . we just met!! She introduced me and told me they were both born into and raised in very strong Muslim families in the Middle East. When “L” had seen a movie about Jesus as a teenager in her own language, she immediately repented of her sins and trusted Christ as her Savior. She couldnt pursue her new beliefs because of her family and ended up marrying a Muslim man at college. Now that they’re in America, she wants to pursue her Christian faith and study the Bible with Christians. My friend’s mid-week study was too far away for “L to attend, but she remembered that our church picks people up at campus, and it’s only a 10 minute ride to church from there! My friend brought “L” and “A” over to meet me and explain their story. I was blown away! I looked at “L” and said, Wow!!!! Youre a Christian??!! “A” stepped in immediately and said, We are Muslims! I looked at “L” questioningly to which she responded with a smile and said, Yes, Im a believer. “A” then smiled too and said, Im sorry, we grew up overseas, and you get killed for believing in Jesus. I am used to saying that. “L” said, I would like to bring ‘A’ to church too . . . I want him to be a believer, and he wants to learn. “A” nodded and said he would like to come. We exchanged phone numbers and I have been texting back and forth ever since. “L” is just so grateful to have met Christians!! I gave them Mark Cahills new book, REUNION, that not only mentions Muslims, but has witnessing conversations between a Christian and a Muslim in it too! So Im praying theyll come to church and that “A” will get saved!!! God is so good!!
