Here is an update on my nephew Adam over the past week while hes been at St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. This is a digest of a longer journal entry by my sister-in-law Connie at the CaringBridge website. Thanks again for your faith, hope, and love. *Adam had his third bone marrow aspiration and another lumbar puncture last Wednesday. His MRD had dropped to 4.7. Thats good improvement. NOW THE GOAL IS TO PRAY AND CHEMO IT DOWN BELOW ZERO BY THE END OF THE INDUCTION. OK, Adams Army? * He has received 14 rounds of chemo (several different types) since last Wednesday. He also has had steroids three times a day for weeks. * He met with his teacher, Sarah and knows what school looks like for him on this path. * He still has a pneumomediastinum (pocket of air in his chest) that his body spontaneously made and will absorb in time. No coughing or vomiting for him so he doesnt disturb it. We have creative medical folks navigating meds to help him through that. PLEASE PRAY FOR IT TO ABSORB SOON. * He got some generous souls platelet donation on Sunday. Thanks to that angel. * And today he has pancreatitis. Dang! Talk about getting kicked when you are down. PLEASE PRAY FOR IT TO HEAL VERY QUICKLY. ITS NOT ON THE MOST POPULAR ROADMAP TO WHERE HE IS GOING SO LETS HONOR IT, HEAL AND MOVE ON. This is key for future plans. Talk about pain people!!! Very tough two days.
