Here is my journey, in my new life. I am currently at school away from everything that I know and familiar. However, let me first tell you about me. I was born on a chilly morning that the humans called ‘Winter’. My mum called it Šubāṭ of the old world. There was female human there that had such a loving and soft touch. While my mum ate she touched me and was so excited that I was there. As I tried to get up she was so happy and cheered me on as I gained my strength in my newly folding out legs. She stayed with me for a long time and I knew her smell as well as my mum. She loved on my mum and my mum shared the same love for her. She chattered but I really could not understand what she was said. My mum called her Hanif. I drank milk from my mum and Hanif rubbed and scratched my back. Hanif then left and my mum and I were together alone in a little room that I came to understand was a stall. She called me Almas her little diamond.
