Here is the info on the Christmas swap. The deadline to sign up is Sep 29th. This swap is NOT repeat NOT a part of our group here. Its something entirely separate - if you choose to participate, you need to follow through with the commitment and know that you are paired with someone depending on you to send them gifts as they are sending to someone else, also. Its only fun if everyone gets a box to open. Please PM me with any questions. For this swap you will pick out 12 different items to represent the 12 days of Christmas. For each day you must have that number of the item. For example, 11 stick pins for the 11th day, 10 sewing needles for the 10th day, 9 thimbles for the 9th day, and so on. You can count the number of items contained in a package as the number itself; for example, machine needles that come in a package of 5 can count for the 5th day. Your gift for Day 12 must be a handmade item. Once you’ve picked out your items for the 12 days, please gift wrap each item (or day’s items) SEPARATELY. Also please mark each item with its corresponding day. You may add extra items aside from the 12 days if you wish. If you do, please wrap these separately from the 12 day items and mark them “Christmas Eve”. Once you receive your box from your partner, keep it in a safe place until December 12th. On December 12th you will open the gift that is marked with a “1.” The next day, you will open the gift marked “2” and so on. Once all the 12 days’ gifts are opened, if you have any extra gifts (marked “Christmas Eve”), you may open them on Christmas Eve. The only hard and fast rules are as follows: A. The Day 12 gift must be handmade. AND B. You must include at least one yard (or equivalent) of fabric (1 yard, 2 ½ yards, 4 FQ’s, 8 F8th, etc.) as a gift for one of the other days. AND C. You must mail by November 25, 2014. There is a $30.00 spending limit so pick items wisely. This limit does not apply to items in your stash. In order to participate in the OUQG’s 2014 “12 Days Christmas Swap,” you must EMAIL Kelly at hauserquilting@gmail with your signup information no later than September 29, 2014. Names will be distributed no later than October 1, 2014. Mail deadline is Nov 25th, 2014 – that’s the Tuesday BEFORE Thanksgiving. This is to ensure everyone has their boxes in enough time to start opening on December 12.
