Here is this weekends list of street and bridge closings: The speed limit on all New York City streets is now 25 MPH unless otherwise posted. By slowing down, New York drivers will prevent crashes, protect New Yorkers from injury, and save lives. The Brooklyn Bridge will be closed to Manhattan-bound traffic on Saturday from 12:01 am to 7 am and on Sunday from 12:01 am to 9 am. Motorists should consider the Manhattan Bridge, the Williamsburg Bridge or Hugh L. Carey Brooklyn Battery Tunnel (MTA tolled facility) as alternatives. One of four lanes of the outbound roadway of the Williamsburg Bridge will be closed on Saturday from 6 am to 2 pm to facilitate bridge repairs. The Grand Street Bridge over Newtown Creek will be closed in both directions on Saturday between 7 am and 1 pm to repair deck gratings. Metropolitan Avenue may be used as an alternative route. One lane will be closed on the Third Street Bridge over the Gowanus Canal from 7 am until noon, and on the Union Street Bridge over the Gowanus Canal from noon until 5 pm, on Saturday, weather permitting, to continue restoration of the bridges’ operating mechanisms. Through traffic will be maintained. The rain date is Sunday. Two of four northbound lanes on 9A/12th Avenue between 49th Street and 54th Street will be closed from 11 pm Friday to 5 am Monday to facilitate roadway repaving. The right lane of the Gowanus Expressway inbound/northbound at the on ramp from Prospect Expressway will be closed from 11 pm Friday to 9 pm Sunday to facilitate NY State DOT roadway deck repair work.
