Here my full life story : John D. Fuentes was born in Hartford, Connecticut on May 3rd 1992. John is the only child born to Johnnie Coles and Carmen Fuentes. John has lived his entire life in Hartford, Connecticut. From an early age, John showed an avid interest in music and rhythm. John would use almost anything and everything to make beats and rhythms. However from the age of two to fourteen, John suffered from a chronic fluid problem in his ears that left him temporarily partially deaf. Fortunately, the issue was correctable; however he had to have tubes put in his ears 4 times during his childhood, in order to keep the hearing loss from becoming permanent. John began to attend the Artist Collective at the age of 3 and attended for the majority of his child hood and all of his adolescent years. John has participated in classes involving the African Diaspora and Steel Pan. It was at the Artist Collective that John’s musical and performance interests blossomed. He was blessed with caring teachers and instructors who saw his talent and potential, despite his immaturity, and took him under their almost exclusive instruction. As a result, John is very well known in the Hartford community for his vibrant and passionate performances on African Percussion and Steel Pan. John is currently a teacher/performer for the Artist Collective. John also performs with other musical groups such as Sankofa Kumba, Friends and Hartford Steel Symphony. John also performs on occasion with Cultural Dance Troupe of the West Indies in Hartford and Piragramac Cultural Arts Association in Bronx, New York. John attended Noah Webster Elementary School in Hartford. During these years, John also participated in sports such as baseball and soccer. He also attended Hartford Public High School and graduated in 2010. While at Hartford High, John continued in soccer for three years and was captain of the soccer team his senior year. John was also on the HPHS swim team his senior year, where he was the only diver for the HPHS team, placing 17th out of 50 at the State Championships his first and only year of diving. After graduating high school, John continued his education at Capital Community College where he is pursuing an Associates Degree in Music Industry. John’s professional aspiration is to become a Performing Artist/Producer. John’s mother ensured that John grew up in the church and knowing that Jesus Christ is Lord. John attended Saint Monica’s Episcopal Church in Hartford from birth until age 10. John then attended Phillips Metropolitan Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Hartford until the age of 18 when he decided he did not want to attend church anymore. Around age 19, John was introduced to Liberty Christian Center by Kyle McHargh. John decided to join Liberty because he felt that was where he needed to be. John is currently active on the audio ministry as well as the social media aspect of the church. John believes that all of his gifts and talents are given to him by God. His goal is to teach God’s Word through music.
