Heres the Great Commission: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). Lets say Fred isnt a believer, so we talk to him about Noahs Ark and the great flood. After hearing some credible scientific evidence for his existence, Fred believes in Noah. However, he doubts that God made Adam from dirt, Eve from his rib, that a snake talked, the sun stopped in the sky, Moses opened the Red Sea, Jonah was swallowed by a whale, and 101 strange stories that are harder to swallow than Jonahs whale. Our problem is that we are putting the cart before the horse. We should first do what Jesus told us to do, and preach the gospel--because its the power of God unto salvation. The instant someone repents and trusts in Jesus, the Creator of the universe will open the eyes of his understanding, and he will supernaturally believe every Word of Holy Scripture. This is because the God who wrote the Bible has revealed Himself to him. So, treat apologetics as bait, and never forget that the gospel is the hook. Attract the fish with apologetics, but never forget to pull the hook into the jaw.
