Heres your miracle story for the day. I stopped by my dear friends home to check on her and her babies last night. She is our most wonderful foster mom who has helped multiple animals... she simply cant walk away ...her recent success stories include 3 little kittens from separate litters who would not have survived without intervention. Meet one of my phenomenal team members... Darlene Newman. Background... this precious teeny tiny baby came in with a litter without a mom...we see this much too often and many time the result is devastating. She was very small... much lesser even than any of her siblings. I watched her a couple of days and noticed she simply wouldnt eat. She just sat and stared at me with unforgettable eyes. I knew she was in distress and helpless to tell me. The shelter was closing, I was late for an appointment, so I picked up the phone and called Darlene. She said... Ill meet you in town. I grabbed this tiny girl, a cozy blanket, and supplies and headed out. I handed this tiny baby into the hands of an angel literally ...this photo is their first introduction. This tiny thing struggled ....Darlene was up hourly with her trying to feed her... we tried every thing to save her, knowing her little body was so fragile and her battle great. And sometimes they just dont have the will to go on... sometimes unfortunately, we have to let them go. For a few days... I waited and prayed... and then got a note...I lost her! Then another note... shes alive! Heres the rest of the story and her photo from last night... she was playing so hard, I could barely get her to stop for a selfie. She is still teeny, obviously less than one pound...but a little fireball, full of herself and her moms dedicated love. She even knew me and stopped to stare with those same precious eyes, to say ..hi Miss Bev... look at me now! ... this time she was alert with life and anticipation. Hugs all around and tears. I loved her first and now she is the very heart of Darlene. Darlene promised her that if she made it, she wasnt going anywhere. So if this wont wet your eyes.. there is no heart. Grab the tissues! ♡♡♡ This is the baby I brought to life. That morning I found her unresponsive. I started singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to let her pass over easily and had her where she could hear my heart beat. But then she decided she wasnt ready to cross that bridge. I had named her Jamie but that just hadnt felt right. I think I am going to name her Twinkle Little Star. Darlene
