Here’s an overview of my candidacy for the Haddonfield Board of Education: ◾An extensive record of successful advocacy that added educational value, including: academic extracurriculars like Science Olympiad; advanced middle school language arts courses; high school credit for courses taken elsewhere (Option 2 Policy); an improved Grade Point Average formula for more competitive GPAs ◾A K-12 perspective as a parent of two recent grads and 16 years as a volunteer in Haddonfield schools, including HMS and Zone PTA Board positions ◾A well-informed focus on effective teaching, learning, and curricula ◾A commitment to responsible spending, with greater transparency and more community involvement in Board decisions ◾An independent voice: no political party affiliation or conflicts of interest ◾A 25-year career in healthcare research, marketing and education – M.A., Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine; B.S./B.F.A., UNC Chapel Hill
