Here’s another “happy ending” story. This is the Judge Jacob - TopicsExpress

Here’s another “happy ending” story. This is the Judge Jacob Gale house located on 403 NE Jefferson St. as it appeared while it was under a demolition order from the City of Peoria. The 1839 Greek Revival structure (constructed before the city’s downtown streets were laid out) was saved in 1990 by Kert Huber and Tom Leiter who together purchased and, working with a local preservation group, saved it. On March 19, 1982 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. After the renovation project the Gale House became the location for the Peoria Convention and Visitors Bureau for 10 years and is now the law offices of Prusek, Winne, Gorman, Ltd. (Sources: Wikipedia & Peoria Magazines) Bob Page posted some beautiful photos last month on Memories of Peoria of this house as it appears today.
