Here’s my GW6 midfielders over £6.0m “ones to watch”. Sterling The one shining light in what was a pretty disturbing performance from Liverpool in the loss to West Ham. There was also the equal disturbing sight of him playing RWB once Rodgers changed formation. However it’s hard to see that he will play there with any regularity given the important effect he has on the team. I suspect he will either play in the front 3 of 4-3-3 or centrally behind a striker. Great shooting stats. Very good fixtures. Extremely high ownership, great form and good fixtures make him a dangerous player not to own. Played 120 minutes inexplicably in the Capital One Cup despite supposedly being managed carefully by Rodgers? However there will be a riot if he doesn’t play in the derby at the weekend. Next 6 fixtures: Everton (H) West Brom (H) QPR (A) Hull (H) Newcastle (A) Chelsea (H) Di Maria Another incredible performance against Leicester with a goal and an assist. Unbelieveable 28 points in 3 games. The more amazing thing is it’s 2 goals in 3 games from someone who doesn’t really score that much, he’s more of an assister. The underlying stats reflect this as well so he’s overperforming the stats for his goals. Comes from deep but carries the ball forward to cause chaos. 2 good home fixtures coming next and then WBA. Good set piece representation West Ham (H) Everton (H) West Brom (A) Chelsea (H) Man City (A) Crystal Palace (H) Ramsey Just 1 assist and no goals in the last 3 represents somewhat of a crisis for last years midfield sensation. Alot has been made of Ozils move central and a supposed change of formation but Ramsey had still arrived in the box when 2 goals were scored so he was still getting forward. However his shots in the box stats are way down on last year. Unfortunately this is a guy who defies the underlying stats so it’s hard to make a final judgement. 39% ownership makes him a risky sale. However if you’re going to sell the next 2 fixtures are a good time to do it. Interestingly the top 10 managers I follow have been selling and from being owned by 9/10 he’s now only owned by 5/10. Spurs (H) Chelsea (A) Hull (H) Sunderland (A) Burnley (H) Swansea (A) Fabregas Finally lost his 100% return rate away to City on the weekend but it’s still a pretty impressive start. Creating chances a plenty for team mates and now with Costa to finish them it’s enough to sustain them. Longevity has to be questioned until he starts scoring though. Good set piece representation and very high ownership are positives for owning. Villa next is not the time to sell. Aston Villa (H) Arsenal (H) Crystal Palace (A) Man Utd (A) QPR (H) Liverpool (A) Siggy 2 games with no return will be testing the patience of his owners although the 2 games were Chelsea and Saints when Swansea had 10 men so difficult to be too harsh. Has the central position attacking midfield position although the fixtures are average at best. 40% ownership makes him dangerous to not own it’s just whether you think he can really hurt you if you sell. 9/10 top FPL managers I follow are keeping the faith Sunderland (A) Newcastle (H) Stoke (A) Leicester (H) Everton (A) Arsenal (H) Sanchez With Wilshere and Chambers the only 2 other first team players who lined up in the Capital One Cup loss against Southampton. Not sure really why he played? Rested apparently against Villa so not sure whats going on but hard to see him being rested against Spurs. Has scored in his last 2 FPL games and his underlying shooting and creating chances stats are overall up their with the best. Spurs (H) Chelsea (A) Hull (H) Sunderland (A) Burnley (H) Swansea (A) Chadli 1 goal in his last 3 after scoring 2 in his first start of the season does question whether he will be a consistent returner this season. However his shots in the box are the best of any midfielder even if he’s not creating chances. However next 3 fixtures are not great entry points for him Arsenal (A) Southampton (H) Man City (A) Newcastle (H) Aston Villa (A) Stoke (H) Tadic You’re relying here on past quality and fixtures because there’s precious little form with 2 assists in 5 premier league games to go on. Was impressive away to Arsenal in the Cap One and showed that perhaps he has pen duties. However the fixtures are excellent although you may want to pick Pelle as your Southampton player rather than Tadic. If you’re going to do it, this week has to be the time with QPR at home QPR (H) Spurs (A) Sunderland (H) Stoke (H) Hull (A) Leicester (H) Hazard If you’re going to own him now is the time to buy. Home to lower ranked sides (I know Villa are temporarily not in that position) is his speciality. Fixtures are more mixed after that but what we have is one of the top midfielders from last season who has produced, albeit inconsistently this season. Was very unlucky home to Swansea not returning despite a fantastic performance. Has seen a serious shots in the box reduuction from last season is the most disturbing stat and that is after a good starting schedule. Has pens. Aston Villa (H) Arsenal (H) Crystal Palace (A) Man Utd (A) QPR (H) Liverpool (A) YYT Last season did exist didn’t it? I didn’t just dream he scored 20 goals? Surely it can’t of all gone. I know he has had terrible family circumstances and maybe that has understandably had a huge effect on him but whatever’s going on it’s not good. A big leap of faith at a big price. However we all know City’s scoring potential. Will have pens when Aguero’s not on the pitch Hull (A) Aston Villa (A) Spurs (H) West Ham (A) Man Utd (H) QPR (A) #XJ07
